So, back before the last Fissure dive, I'd mentioned something about throwing a festival... that wound up being made into a Fire Festival, thanks to Tali.

That's something I'm still really interested in helping make happen, especially after the Fissure. So far, it's looking like the lineup (in no set order) is:

-spicy food contest
-fireworks
-dunking booth
-voluntary roasting*
-burning of the effigies
-a fashion show that fits the fire theme

This is all thanks to ideas from the last post, one of my lovely fiances, and some things I considered while being stuck in bed, sick.

Any thoughts or other ideas?




* With some reasonable limitations on what can/can't be brought up/said about the person in the hot seat. Going too far means forfeiting participation in the thing (and possibly being removed from the festival altogether), until all involved people have had time to cool of.

[And she's quick to open the door and usher him in. It looks like she's in the middle of a sewing project of some sort (which is resting on the desk), and what's definitely new are the Gacha-chan poster on the wall and what's on the bed--a makeshift nest made up of some blankets and a few of those fire crystals picked up in Incendia... which has a big egg nestled in the center.]

Well, I can't say I have. I kind of remember there being a movie about someone wearing what looked like clothes on fire, but that was all special effects.

I meant something along the lines of lots of reds and oranges and yellows. Super bright stuff!

I think Ignis is making one thing, and I'm planning to do something based on a recipe I invented back home.

We could definitely use more! Maybe something that isn't curry?

[ He walks over to check out the egg, smiling softly before he nods and takes a seat on the couch. The kittehfly formerly on his shoulder flies over to greet Akana as Akira takes a moment to dig a notebook out of his inventory. ]

Pretty quiet, not that I'm complaining.

[She lifts a hand for the kittehfly to perch on, with a pleased hum. She makes her way over to the bed, sitting down next to the nest.]

I've mostly spent today working on... well. [She gestures with her head to the sewing project on her desk.]

sounds delightful. Σ(ノ°▽°)ノ i can cook, and i know a lot of spicy recipes. id also suggest a traditional haven activity, but most outsiders seem to think its crazy

Cute. I'm sure he'll love it a lot. How long have you been into making things like this?

Well, I started teaching myself to sew back in elementary school. My mother used to get really snippy whenever she had to mend clothes I got torn up so I started learning to do it myself to save her the trouble. As far as stuffed animals and stuff go, I think it was in my second year of middle school. It was a good way to keep my hands busy.

ill bring a few dishes then.

first thing we do is fireproof ourselves. with magic or a special lotion. and then we pour flammable oil all over ourselves. i think you can figure out what comes next

"Not curry" is certainly a broad enough range that I should be able to come up with something.

Perhaps some form of peppers stuffed with peppers...
