With the difficulties that we're having in the current dungeon, it occurred to me that an alternate way to be able to communicate with each other might be useful. I can set up a Party with up to seven other people, interchangeable as need be, that allows access to a Party Chat that seems to work on a different level than normal speech or other forms of communication. If anyone would be interested in this, please let me know? As I said, I can change up the Party composition as need be throughout the trip, and the range on it is usually fairly extensive.

My understanding is that it apparently operates on some of the same levels as "Master-Servant" telepathy?

I'm not entirely certain how to explain how it works - it's something that we're taught when we join the Adventurer's Guild, along with teleportation magicks. Though I can't seem to use those, as there aren't any aetherytes that I've been able to find here...

Anyway, it allows something like a semi-telepathic link between Party members? It also allows the use of area of effect spells without harm to others within the Party.

That sounds amazing... Could you teach others how to use it? If I could use my magic without hurting any of my friends in the line of fire, that would open up so many possibilities.

It's...not? It's just a way for people to communicate. Usually adventurers use it when we're doing dungeon runs or planning a big fight. It's just a private communication.

[Voice-to-text + local translation protocols sometimes make things sound weird. Er. Weirder.]

I was basing that off of the connection between Izunia and Astolfo, since I managed to apparently pull them into Party at the same time. I figured that it would be comparison that everyone around might understand.

As to what sort of communication, I suppose that it’s comparable to something like deliberate telepathy? It only works if you intend the words to be spoken, so there’s no accidental communication or anything. I’m not certain how best to explain it to people who haven’t been around it for a while.

That's what I was thinking. I wish that I knew how to set up an Alliance, though - that would get twenty-four people linked, rather than just eight.

Do you need to get in on this one?

That sounds like a plan! The more people who know this, the easier it might make things. When do you want to meet up and try? I'd prefer one of the stabilized areas for the where, so that I can see.

I think that it's just a minor aether drain on the person who's in the Leader role. I know that the role can be transferred between people so that the person who sets up the Party can leave without disbanding it. I'll admit that I'm not sure beyond that.

Not necessarily need to, I'm mostly sticking around base camp to heal anyone who needs it. I don't really want to take space away from anyone who does need it.

Is this something you could teach someone to do? Because if so, I'd be interested in learning.

I've never actually tried to teach it before, but I'd be willing to give it a try! When do you want to meet up?
