I know everyone's busy prepping for the Fire Festival but I've had something on my mind the last few days and I thought it was worth talking to everyone about it.

I've noticed that the longer we stay here, the more people we've had turn up who are missing out on being in school or college because we're stuck here – I was supposed to be starting college myself when all this started and I'm honestly a little disappointed that I'm missing out on it.

I know it's probably not the same for everyone, but something I've been wondering about doing for the last few days is maybe starting some classes and study session for people who'd like to get back on the education wagon. I'm not exactly a teacher, but I've tutored people before and, well, my grades were good enough to get me into college.

It's important to have some structure in your day in a situation like this and I think classes would be a good idea. So if anybody's interested, I can see about setting up something.

That doesn't sound like a bad idea, if you ask me. I've gotten myself into a little routine, but I wouldn't object to having something more in there. It's hard to know what to do with so much free time...

Exactly. Just trying to fill the time from one day to the next can really wear on you after a while. If you have something concrete to work on then it works wonders for keeping you engaged and motivated.

The only problem I'm starting to see is that we're all from such different places and we're all at different places in our education. It'd be one thing if we all had the same sort of curriculum but we're going to have to work out between ourselves what we want to prioritize and how it's going to work.

That's an excellent idea. What would you need in terms of supplies and space to set it up?

Is there anyone else willing to tutor? I can teach some practical mathematics and psychology.

I'm not sure yet. Obviously, we'll need a space to sit and work where we won't be disturbing anyone and some stationary and writing supplies wouldn't do amiss. But it's hard to know exactly what we'll need until we have an idea of how many people we have and what we'll be doing.

I was already planning on helping tutor some of the people still in high school, though. I've done it before, though it was a Japanese curriculum I was teaching.

So long as we're willing to sit down and learn, yes. The only question is who's going to be teaching and what.

I'm all for it. I've been doing some self-study as of late in order to avoid falling behind, but I haven't been making any headway. Having someone tutor me would be a big help.

That's good to hear! This is exactly the sort of thing I was hoping to help people out with. Are you in high school still, or are you studying for college?

Of course! I haven't started nailing down a hard curriculum yet – I don't think there's much point in doing that before we know who's going to be taking part – but I was thinking we'd start with the basics like... well, obviously it wouldn't be Japanese for most of you, but some general literature studies. Some maths and sciences probably too and some more practical things like home ec.

It's much harder keeping yourself motivated if you're doing it all by yourself. You'd be in your second year of high school now, right? Or the third?

I've been doing some studying on my own, but it would be nice having a group. Though, I have been a bit concerned about things like the details of physics differing between worlds, to say nothing of history-dependent fields.

That sounds like it could be useful... have you considered talking to the androids about it as well? They might be able to point you in the right direction.

I'd offer to teach, but the only things I think I know well enough are Auldrant's history and fonology. I doubt there's much need for either of those.

You never know! But if it's something specialized to your world, I can see why teaching it would seem a bit niche. Should I put you down as a "maybe if the topic comes up"?

Huh. Schooling is common in your world for youth, then? That kind of thing is... Not so much, where I'm from. Mostly kids got to work, unless they were rich enough for tutors or the magic schools...

It's common enough. In Japan, it's mandatory up through middle school and from there you can decide to start work or not. Most people go on to high school though, since that's the best way to guarantee yourself a good job.

I'm not sure if I can teach, but I do possess no small knowledge of literature. Otherwise, I'm afraid I can only help with Miari history and lore.

I had tutors in economics and law as well as the sciences, but in all honesty, I'm not too sure I'd be motivated to pick those studies up again.

Literature could be a good place to start, if you don't mind giving teaching a try. Otherwise, you'd be welcome to join any of the other classes if they look interesting enough.

I think I've got things covered if we do decide to teach people how to cook, but that might not be doable with our space and resources right now. It's something to think about though!
