[The initial video opening just displays a new sign on the wall of the common room. It looks like someone managed to find a piece of whiteboard and an erasable marker to incorporate into the sign. What does the sign say?

10 weeks without murder

Yes, you read that right. The whiteboard part is where the 10 is written with marker. It's clearly been made to be regularly updated. Kurama's voice when he speaks is...close to his usual calm tones but a little tense.]

Many of the people here will wonder why this sign is needed. The people who need it know why. I am one of the first group to fall through the Fissures, so this encompasses the entire history we know of of outsiders in this world.

I'm going to keep it updated appropriately, since...there might be more of us, apparently.

I would like to ask that no one tamper with the sign except for accurate updates. This is not a prank and it is not for pranks. It's for people that have suffered.

At least a sign's absurd enough to be funny. At my age it's black humor or raving insanity.

I have...mostly accepted it by now. But as noted, I've been here from the start.

I must admit I agree entirely. There comes a point somewhere between three and four digits that you really just have to find the humor in a wider range of things.

Pretty sure it was somewhere around early three digits for me, but 'humor' was a bit subjective at the time. The concept of 'laugh -or- go insane' is a newer one next to 'laugh -and- be insane'.

Fair enough. I'm not much of a drinker, personally, but there are things I tend to need a bit for, myself.

I had thought you might be but couldn't be sure. I can't say I don't appreciate having more people around in my age bracket.

Likewise. It's rare I run into anyone even a significant fraction of my age, the closest I've met in recent memory was around nine hundred or so.

It has been more commonly recently in the world I came from, but when I'm away from there I find I'm often the oldest person in any given room.

...sometimes it's simply easier to be seventeen.

I usually just say thirty-five, myself. Not many people I meet these days blink twice at the truth, but I've lost track of an exact number and it's easier to pick up from there.

I gave up on exact numbers a long time ago, I just approximate by number of tails. Though that will also stop working by the time I reach your age.

When I'm dealing with people I can't tell the truth, I just give seventeen, but honestly, it's much less convenient to be an apparent minor than to be apparently thirty-five.

I was originally born a kitsune, a demon fox. Though I think your world doesn't have foxes and I'm not sure what to compare them to. But past a certain age we start growing extra tails every hundred years, to a maximum of nine.

Of course, then I died, forcibly reincarnated myself as a human, grew to approximately the age of seventeen, and died again in the Reaper's Game a few months ago. I'm still technically dead, so I won't be aging any further.

And yes, it is horribly troublesome.
