[Video] In which Pidonus finds a thing!

So I decided to ask a drone for things for being less bored, and it found something!

[Pidonus dramatically tosses her phone up into the air, then mutters something, the camera stopping directly above her pointed down, where she holds up... a copy of "The Settlers of Catan", a box of some decks of Poker cards, and a copy of Munchkin.]

Board games! And cards! A start to the solution for the boredom problem!

This is a good day! To do things! Who's interested?!

[And then the phone drops to the ground, thankfully not damaged, but the camera going dark as it lands on the floor. Pidonus apparently failed to keep her concentration on the Prestidigitation effect. Also, all the stuff's shrink-wrapped... Huh.]

I certainly wouldn't mind. There's another sort of a clan among the tengu that never want to play anything but shogi, so it'd be a nice change of pace.

[And hey, it's a board game from either the outside or uh... outside the outside.

Also she's not really good at shogi.]

Sounds like a plan to me! What is Shogi, though?

It's a kind of war strategy game. You've got a king and some generals and knights and lances and you try and capture the opponent's king.

Or at least, that's how regular shogi plays, the hakurou tengu have added so many pieces and houserules that a single game with all their additions takes days.

It is. The problem only got worse when some strange pieces from the Outside World suddenly appeared.

... Er... Like, cursed pieces, or?

Not cursed, no. It's just that no one's sure what an "airplane" piece, for example, is supposed to do in a game where most of the pieces are soldiers and generals.

Now picture that it's been happening with some regularity for over fifty years.

Not about just the airplane, of course, but it's mostly just an issue among the hakurou. So you could just call it them taking houserules too seriously, like a number of other of things.

[Though they are essentially the mountain's security guards.]

Mm. Where I'm from, houserules aren't often a thing.

With the war and all, I wouldn't be sure many people have time for games, yes.
