[Some people might have noticed Goro's had his hair tied up with a black ribbon since his birthday. The more observant might have also noticed a topaz stud in his right ear since that same date. Now both things are clearly visible when he appears on screen, with an expression as though he's mulling something over.]

A lot of us have been here for several months now, and some of us have been in other unfamiliar worlds for longer...that sort of thing can have an impact, and change your outlook in ways you could never expect. It's changed my entire future...no, given me one, when the path I was on before would have destroyed me.

So, I've been wondering. Has anyone else here changed in ways that they expect to influence what they do with their lives when they go back home? And, if so...have any of those people had to put real thought into what it is they want to do, because their previous long-term plans aren't...something they can do anymore, for whatever reason?

If you don't want to share, that's perfectly alright. This is just a bit of...academic curiosity, really.

I can't say my entire life was turned around by it, but I understand what you mean. I've met a few people with opportunities like that that decided to turn around what they were doing.

I've seen both, myself. People who were still content with their life course, and people who...realized they were making mistakes.

Well, I can't really go back home, and the new home I do have, I...have no idea what I'm gonna do. Besides hang out with my husband and the family. Help raise birds...? I mean, I suspect I'll need a job. At some point. Sometime. Just not, uh, sure what...to do with the set of skills I have in a civilian life...

That's the sort of thing I was wondering about, myself. Certain...people might find themselves having to adapt to having their circumstances changed completely, and it, ah...sounds difficult, figuring out what to do with yourself when you're essentially starting back from square one.

I'm riding on a fair amount of money, so finding a job isn't like the most important thing on my to-do list, but I think sitting around the place is gonna get real old eventually. Wasn't really built for nnnnot combat, I guess? What'm I gonna do, work in customer service?

Of course. I don't remember you ever mentioning what you plan to do after high school...

I never did. Back home, it was because leading the Phantom Thieves took up a lot of my time and focus. Then... the mall happened. [ he very briefly squeezes his boyfriend's hand ] And then we wound up here.

[ But, then he nods. ]

When I return to school, I'm going to put even more focus into things than before.

[ He's looking down, expression shifting towards something more serious. ]

I primarily want to study everything related to mental health.

I've been considering asking if it could be possible to just try remaining here, even after all of this is over, myself.

That might depend on how we end up sending people home. But as long as it's something a little more precise than reversing the magic that brought us here, it would probably at least be possible.

Though, personally, I'd prefer an option that involves being able to move back and forth without harassing an angel.

Fair enough. I guess what I really meant was asking if the robots would mind me sticking around, if it turns out to be within the realm of possibilities.

Thinking about the future, huh... To tell you the truth, any train of thought I've had in regards to mine has just kind of... stopped in its tracks. I haven't thought of what I've wanted to do since...

Well, you don't have to feel too rushed about it. You do still have over a year left before you have to make final choices regarding college, after all.

I suppose pets might make a difference, too. I think I was the only one who got one in the mall, and a magpie is only capable of being so destructive. Though, he could stand to learn some manners.

That happened to me, as well. One of my fellow captives in the mall treated me as if I were his son, and there's several people I feel similarly toward as I do to my sister.

Speaking of academics, is there any subject in school that you particularly enjoyed?

I didn't have time to attend actual classes all that much, so most of my studies were personal. And, honestly, I enjoyed learning new things in general, regardless of the subject.

Then let's look at it from another angle. There are problems within our society and world. Which do you find the most pressing?

o)+ In my case it's not a matter of interuniversaL traveL changing my outLook, but I have had a few... massive Paradigm shifts, in my time.

o)+ I suPPose I found after a whiLe that it saves a Lot of grief if my Long-term Plans have some room for adjustment and imProvisation buiLt in. It makes it easier to teLL the difference between a minor setback and a genuine crisis.

o)+ And if things go totaLLy off the raiLs, for one reason or another, it's easier to recaLibrate my PLans if I wasn't aLready focused on a singuLar goaL and a sPecific aPProach.

A flexible plan might not be a bad idea. If nothing else, I expect to exist for several human lifetimes, so something I can simply adjust to something superficially different when I have to change identities would be better than starting over entirely or risking an obvious pattern.
