[Some people might have noticed Goro's had his hair tied up with a black ribbon since his birthday. The more observant might have also noticed a topaz stud in his right ear since that same date. Now both things are clearly visible when he appears on screen, with an expression as though he's mulling something over.]

A lot of us have been here for several months now, and some of us have been in other unfamiliar worlds for longer...that sort of thing can have an impact, and change your outlook in ways you could never expect. It's changed my entire future...no, given me one, when the path I was on before would have destroyed me.

So, I've been wondering. Has anyone else here changed in ways that they expect to influence what they do with their lives when they go back home? And, if so...have any of those people had to put real thought into what it is they want to do, because their previous long-term plans aren't...something they can do anymore, for whatever reason?

If you don't want to share, that's perfectly alright. This is just a bit of...academic curiosity, really.

Thinking about the future, huh... To tell you the truth, any train of thought I've had in regards to mine has just kind of... stopped in its tracks. I haven't thought of what I've wanted to do since...

Well, you don't have to feel too rushed about it. You do still have over a year left before you have to make final choices regarding college, after all.

That's true... I just kind of figure I'm massively screwed over at this point.

...You were convicted on false charges. It's difficult, but if you can prove that, you can get your record cleared.

Right... Still, that feels like a long shot at this point.

[... That isn't to say she's going to try, but... whether she has hope or not of actually succeeding is... questionable.]

Besides that... well, I've thought about journalism off and on? I'm thinking about asking Ohya-san for advice at some point...

Hmm, I think I can see you as an investigative journalist. It's really not all that different from a more mundane version of what we do as the Phantom Thieves, when you think about it. Uncovering the secrets of corrupt individuals the police can't or won't do something about.

An investigative journalist... huh. I like the sound of that. And even if it's somewhat more mundane, some way of continuing what the Phantom Thieves do does sound appealing.

To be honest, I wouldn't mind continuing as a detective, for similar reasons. My current career came from the way I used the Metaverse before I met Shido.

Unfortunately, though, I doubt that's going to be feasible.

Ah, yeah, I imagine not...

Well, maybe I'll think of something else I can do in a similar vein, that doesn't require a clean bill of mental health. Hopefully one that lets me stay out of the spotlight for a while, I think I've had quite enough of being the current thing everyone's talking about.

The public is fickle, so hopefully they'll leave me alone once I stop making public appearances.

Once I get home, it...should only be about a month before the truth about me comes out. I won't still be popular after that.

... At least now you have enough people who really care about you so that'll... ease some of it, right?

I do. People who know the real me, and what I've done. It's actually been a huge comfort in learning to act the way I want to instead of the way I'm supposed to.
