I'm sure this request is no more odd than any other that's graced the network so far, but I'm in want of a sparring partner or two. If we're to end up in a Fissure more dangerous than the last, I would want to be able to stand on my own and it's easier to train alongside your comrades.

If anyone is interested, feel free to approach me at any time.

If anyone is also interested in learning how to cook without burning the kitchen down or ruining it, feel free to approach me as well. The smell of burning...whatever it may be lingers, and it's no trouble to cook for others if need be or lend some guidance.

As far as weapons go, I can wield daggers, throwing knives, and a whip. I can sort of handle a gun, even though I've never fired a real one.

I have a preference for hand-to-hand.

But as far as lack-of-cooking goes, I can make a sandwich and cold cereal? Also: vegetables don't require cooking most of the time.

To give you more of an idea, I burned an entire kitchen down when I was seventeen. I've spent the past nine years pretty much living off of anything that can be heated in a microwave or served cold.

Can't say I've used a whip before, though I'm familiar with knives as well.

Daggers, lances, and magic are my typical area of expertise.

[Which clearly means he needs to learn how to use a whip ASAP because that's totally not someone's sexual fantasy or nothin'.

I'll spare you the lecture of how unhealthy that is as I'm sure you're well aware of how processed foods are lacking, but that basically means we're starting with an empty plate.

Most people in my world are incapable of magical feats - my case is unique, in that I am one of Noct's retainers.

[It's a good thing voice-to-text doesn't pick up on his hesitation, on his uncertainty to how to refer to Noctis. He's no longer the Prince, but it still...it still feels strange to call him King. He's been waiting for that moment, but it's...

It's a strange, hollow feeling, knowing what he knows about the future, so Noct it is. Noct is safe.]

I'm sure under my guidance we can manage to not set the station kitchen's on fire, at the very least.

Yes - as a member of the line of Lucis, he's been gifted magic from the gods, and an integral part of that magic is the ability to pass it on to others. It seems to be one of the things that sets our magic apart from that of other worlds.

[Without Noctis, there would be no magic. But there's no point telling him that, or explaining that the magic Noctis (and therefore Ignis) possess is not as strong or as varied as what Ardyn and Izunia wield.]

Should the worst come to pass, ice elemancy should be enough to snuff the blaze.

Not permanently, no. The magic is simply being borrowed from the Lucian - were they to die or disappear, that magic could no longer be used.

Control might be...generous. It's more channeling energies to generate ice, but elemancy is notoriously wild and difficult to control.

No offense, but that seems like a really unfortunate power...

Having to rely on someone else for something like that, I mean.

I see. Maybe a demonstration would help me understand better. I'm usually more of a visual person.

It's a power granted to them by the gods. They care little for how convenient it may be.

The gods have wills of their own, and they seem content to sit idly by to let mortals put an end to things. Or at least that applies to the Six.

My days tend to be very free, barring expeditions. Considering the volatile nature of elemancy, however, the forest or beach would be best.

I wish I could be surprised, but it seems there are more constants between worlds than one would usually expect.

I'd say that depends. So far, I've only talked to one person who didn't seem to think the things I mentioned about my world were unthinkable.

The incredible variety between worlds does not make any less unthinkable than the other. They're simply different.

[ There's no messing around between the last message and his arrival on the beach. He does recognize the next person he spots down here as someone from around the station (and from the profile image), and he doesn't hesitate to make his way over. ]

Uh... "Specs"? [ a beat, and then there's a hint of amusement in his voice ] I assume I don't need to tell you my name, since I wasn't exactly creative with my username... What should I call you, other than a joker?

[The man is quick, and Ignis can respect that. While he hasn't been idling about the beach waiting for Aiden, it's a place he's been spending a lot of time.

He enjoys the sounds of it. The sound of waves is nostalgic and familiar.]

Ignis Scientia. [His lips quirk up into a smile, as he bows his head in Aiden's direction.] Specs was a nickname from before I was blinded, if you could believe it.

[ That makes the two of them, at least, in regards to the enjoying the beach thing. ]

It's nice to properly meet you, Ignis. [ since they're not at a party with alcohol this time! ] And was the nickname due to you formerly wearing glasses, or something else?

[ He doesn't know what kinds of things people of other worlds could get a nickname like that from, but he won't assume an impossibility in a place like this. ]

A wry grin crosses his face, and he rubs his hand along the back of his neck.] It was, admittedly, not a very clever nickname. But a bit more descriptive than simply going by "Iggy".

[Which is a yes, he did wear glasses, had needed them pretty badly in fact! And now, well. They keep the damage from being incredibly obvious.]

I'm not sure cute is a word I would have picked, but... [Ah. He's not sure if this is something he should be flustered over - it's not like Aiden is saying he's cute, after all?

Anyway, he notes the flustered emotions, and there's a moment where the smallest smirk of amusement surfaces behind one hand. He actually wouldn't have taken this guy for someone who flusters easily, but then he's still learning all the different kinds of people, around here.

... Funny just how different so many of them are, from those back on Daeseon. Funny, and yet... kind of really nice? He certainly won't be complaining, anytime soon, at least. ]

I'm not sure how much you could do with a name like mine. There's "aid" and there's "den" and neither are fitting for someone like me.

Prompto's one of those I've yet to sit and talk to, just yet. But, he's someone important to Noctis, I take it? I recall seeing a video of them on the network.

[It's easy dealing with the attention from somebody he knows. He can predict the words and actions of the Lucis Caelum, and he's familiar with Prompto's friendly affection. It's the attention of a complete stranger that surprises him.

(He supposes Izunia is right and he is an attractive man. Hmm. It never seemed all that important or relevant, before, but it keeps coming up.)]

I'm sure there's plenty of aid you can provide for people, though I will admit it's a poor nickname. [There's an amused huff.] They've been close since before we came here, and now they seem to have...
