No, it's not. There might frequently be lessons woven into the narrative, but it's typically not hitting you in the face with it with every line out of someone's mouth, or every visual.

It depends on the writing. Sometimes it can still come across as heavy handed, but if it's written well it's more like attempting to make the likable characters into good role models.

like, it's supposed to be all artsy and shit, but everybody knows people mostly watch it to get high to.
actually i don't think i've ever seen it totally sober, dunno what it's like that way...

okay this is the time I'll be serious

you make a bunch of pictures and then arrange them in a certain order and use ~technology~ to make it look like the pictures are moving

people used to do the pictures by hand but mostly they use computers these days because it's cheaper and less prone to cramps

you can still watch plays live where I'm from but you can also just have them recorded in advance the way it was with the music, that's what we call movies and TV shows

so animation is one way you can do them if you don't wanna use live actors

usually for budget or aesthetic reasons

you still usually have actors do the voices though, I actually thought about going into that line of work back when I was home

I mean, according to my mom there was a time and a place where a LOT of cartoons for kids were all DRUGS ARE BAD

but I think they realized that kids don't care

no kid has the money for drugs anyway
