So, back before the last Fissure dive, I'd mentioned something about throwing a festival... that wound up being made into a Fire Festival, thanks to Tali.
That's something I'm still really interested in helping make happen, especially after the Fissure. So far, it's looking like the lineup (in no set order) is:
This is all thanks to ideas from the last post, one of my lovely fiances, and some things I considered while being stuck in bed, sick.
Any thoughts or other ideas?
* With some reasonable limitations on what can/can't be brought up/said about the person in the hot seat. Going too far means forfeiting participation in the thing (and possibly being removed from the festival altogether), until all involved people have had time to cool of.

-spicy food contest
-fireworks
-dunking booth
-voluntary roasting*
-burning of the effigies
-a fashion show that fits the fire theme

[Still, she nods, humming thoughtfully.]
That sounds like a good idea, honestly. I'm not sure what to suggest for the smaller prizes though...

How are you with art, then?
[ A beat. ]
And maybe Goro already has some ideas. At the very least, I'm sure something would come out of you two brainstorming.

[Akira could probably guess anyway, but she still wanted to clarify.]
I'd definitely like to hear your input too, when we start brainstorming. Maybe we could arrange something to talk over it together?

[ --to the last part. As for the first part: ]
Yuuko, huh? Cute name. [ said with a small, fond smile ] The one in my timeline is named Yusuke.
[ After a short pause, he gives a thoughtful hum. ]
I need someone to make banners. It doesn't have to be anything too fancy. We just need something to make it easy to tell which section is which. So a banner for each section I listed would be helpful. This isn't going to be for another two weeks, at least, so there's no rush. Let me know which areas you'd like to make one for, and I'll either handle the rest or find someone who's interested in helping with that part.

I have to admit, it's still weird trying to picture Yuuko as a guy, but it's probably pretty strange imagining people from your timeline as they'd be in mine, huh?
no subject
[ There's a moment of really thinking about it....... ]
Yeah, I'll admit I'm having trouble imagining Ann or Haru Okumura as guys... or Ryuji Sakamoto as a girl...
[ ....... ]
Somehow, Yusuke's actually not all that difficult to imagine as a girl...
no subject
Andy or Ryuu though... Heh. [She guesses it'd be easy to imagine the former as a girl, but... well, there are reasons it's a thought she doesn't let herself go very far with.
She shakes her head as if to shake away that thought process.]
That so? Heh... I wonder if it's another one of those cases where it'd be difficult to tell at first glance.
[... Another???]
no subject
[ Then, he thinks for a moment... ]
... Your version of Goro Akechi?
no subject
If I'd met Goro-kun on land, I might have had a hard time telling him apart from Akechi-san from looking. They're even similar heights...
... Obviously that would've been shattered the minute he started talking. Even when not taking their voices into consideration, their speech is slightly different.
[Plus, uh, personal pronouns, but she figures that goes without saying.]
no subject
Different, huh? You mean more formal?
no subject
[Part of it is general speech patterns, but as far as she's concerned, she does think Akechi could stand to relax a little.]
At least there's no way I'd get them mixed up now.
[... She misses Akechi. And Ryuu. And so many of the others from back home.]
no subject
It took Goro a bit to start talking in a more relaxed way. [ fondness entering his expression ] He's come a long way...
[ Looking to the floor with a soft hum. ]
You don't think there's a chance the Akechi from your timeline could show up?
no subject
[She taps a finger against her chin, frowning a bit.]
She could, but... I dunno, I don't think I should get my hopes up, you know?
no subject
That's perfectly fair. That's how I feel about a lot of the people from my own timeline. I'd give... a lot to see even one of them, but...
[ Now, he's just giving a gentle shrug. ]
Being cautiously optimistic is probably the best approach, in the end.

I'd love that, too.
[ Makoto aside, since he believes that Makoto was from a different time than Akana... ]
no subject
Wanna tell me what the others're like? On your end, I mean.
