I know one can be furious with someone they care about and yet not detest them. Difficult, but not unthinkable. But is it possible to ever learn to stop hating someone, when that anger is justified yet supposedly built on the foundation of a misunderstanding?

I think … I don't know a lot about conflicts, actually. But I think you deserve to shape your own future. Whether you were in the wrong, or they were in the wrong, you should do something you think will help you be happier with yourself.

Whether that's forgiving that person, or if it's a thing that's really hard to forgive, putting that in your past and moving on... hatred isn't a good emotion to harbour for too long, I think.

I'm not sure what would even define deserving it or not.

They did something unthinkably terrible that I can never forgive. But I think the desire to try not hating them is for my sake as well as theirs.

I do not know if you can learn. Even if it was a misunderstanding, I think some fault remains for the following domino effect. Unwanted consequences usually come from continued bad decisions, not just a singular one.

If your anger is justified, have they attempted to earn your forgiveness?

We're both at fault for a myriad of things, some of which are simply unforgivable.

But I think an attempt's being made to extend some offer of not being at each other's throats, at least.
